Murmugao Terminal has vast infrastructures which handles multiple types of Cargo. With deep draft berths and multipurpose terminals, the port efficiently handles the largest bulk carriers in the world. The port has covered and open storage areas with enormous capacity. Excellent cargo evacuation and receiving infrastructure support smooth cargo movement in and out of the port.

Back up Infrastructure consists of :


Fully mechanised material handling system consisting of conveyor systems and stacker cum reclaimers with stacking capacity of 5000 TPH and reclaiming capacity of 2500 TPH.


Total port area of 97,000 sqm with effective storage area of 54,000 sqm.


Yard Management - This single commodity Terminal has storage yards with a capacity of 90,000 MT in Yard A and 1,60,000 MT in yard B. The Silo has a total capacity of 4000 MT supported with Rapid in motion Wagon loading system. The port has 2 Nos. Truck loading station capacity 250 Mt. each totally mechanised for loading trucks with improved turnaround times. The port has a direct Silo loading facility which enables loading of cargo directly into the silo from the ship minimizing the handling losses. The port also boasts Automatic Truck wheel washing system and In-Motion wagon tarpauling covering unit which are testimony to its innovation.

  • Rake speed: 0.6 – 0.9 Km/hr
  • Direct SILO loading from vessel is made available
  • SWR Notified IMWB at loading station
  • In-Motion wagon tarpaulin covering unit

Truck Loading System

  • 2 Truck Loading Stations with independent hopper
  • Hopper Capacity: 500 MT
  • State of the art wheel washing system

One berth of 300 metres with an available draft of 14.5 metres (CD), capable of handling 100,000 DWT vessels.

Rail

Goa is connected with neighbouring states via South Central Railways and Konkan Railways. Railway station at Vasco in Goa is situated a few kilometers away from Mormugao Port and is linked by a broad gauge Line.

Road

The port is being connected with NH17B highway and the construction will be completed by 2018

Air

Dabolim Airport is the nearest airport. It is a licensed airport in ‘Public Category’ with Air Traffic Control (ATC) operated by the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

2 Rail mounted MHC (LPS 600) with 46 CBM grabs of 1750 TPH unloading capacity each.
